More Than Just a Different Time Zone...

So today was Vacation Day 5.
My wonderful parents encouraged us to leave the girls with them and have a date day. So we did. We took some Trust and Healthcare Proxy documentation (woo-hoo! good times!), a few books, and set out for a day on the town.

We were excited to check out the local art museum.

We checked out some of the sculptures outside.
Look! Sculpture!

There's another one!
Well, there weren't very many, so we went inside.

And were greeted by a very pleasant lady who looked surprised to see us. And explained that the museum was between exhibits and there was nothing to see. But if we came back next Thursday night, the new exhibit would be ready.

Yes, we went to an art museum that didn't have any art inside.

So we walked around downtown. And found a boot shop that was trying to get out of the business of selling boots.

We found a burrito shop that thankfully did sell burritos, as well as the tasty, MSG-laced topping they put on their locally-made tortilla chips.

We found brightly-decorated sheep all around town.

We found interesting signs outside of the grocery store.

And eventually found our way back to an amazing library where we read, uninterrupted, for a few hours and BestestHusband worked on more documentation to prepare for our eventual demise.

Then we stopped by the grocery store to pick up a few items for my wonderful parents to help with dinner prep.

We had tried to watch a movie, but the offerings at the local theater were a bit limited. We considered walking along the riverwalk, but there was dredging and bank reconstruction going on. We tried to take advantage of all the town had to offer, but it didn't seem to want to be taken advantage of...

Wow, what a date day!

I have to say I felt like we were very far away from Boston. So much the same, but so... NOT...

Until we got back to the house. And the girls were fighting, whining, and squabbling. And needing a Kleenex every 90 seconds or so. And definitely an early bedtime. We were back in our own world again.

And thus went Day 5 of vacation.
